Growing a magical intention garden

Spring is almost here and many people are already planning their gardens. Some will be growing fruits and vegetables while others may be focusing on having a garden full of colorful flowers. When planning your garden, consider creating an Intention Garden to help you manifest whatever it is you are trying to bring into your life. Seeds and plants can be empowered with your intentions and as they grow, they send out intention laden energy to help you achieve your goals. Best of all you can incorporate the flowers and even the fruits and vegetables that you were planning to use anyway so you won’t have to create any extra space in your already planned garden. You can also place crystals and gemstones in your garden to increase the power of your intentions.
 
Many common plants and flowers are already programmed with specific energies. All you have to do is customize those energies to fit your needs. Here are some examples using common plants, flowers and even fruits and vegetables.
Tomatoes – Love, money, protection
Lettuce – Peace, protection, divination

Honeysuckle – Promotes psychic awareness
Chili Peppers – Fidelity, breaks curses and hexes
Strawberries – Luck, love
 
Do you have fruit trees in your yard or planning to plant some? Trees also hold magical properties that can be used for your benefit.
Apple – Healing, love
Orange – Luck, prosperity, psychic abilities
Lemon – Love, long life, friendship
Peach – Fertility, long life, protection
 
Do you live in an apartment? No problem! You can grow a small herb garden that will work just as well.

Rosemary – Purification, healing, mental awareness
 
Having an intention garden doesn’t take a lot of work and the potential benefits it brings are well worth the effort of growing and maintaining one. Intention manifestation part five – Launching your intentions

Happy New Year Everyone! You have worked so hard to retrain your subconscious, increase your sense of worthiness, clearly convey your intentions and agreeing to work with the Universe/Spirit to help you achieve your goals.Now that you are ready, it is time to launch your intentions and taste the sweetness of success. The best time to do this is on Monday, January 23which is the first New Moon of 2012. The New Moon is the time of new beginnings and the perfect time to launch your intentions. Have the following ready:
 
A list of at least ten things you are thankful for
 
An orange candle (for masculine energy)
 
A white candle (for feminine energy)
 
A green candle (for fertility/growth)
 
Your list of intentions
 
Prepare a sacred space for yourself where you will not be disturbed. It can be out in your backyard, on your deck or balcony or in your bedroom. It is your sacred space so you get to choose where you want it to be. If possible, take a cleansing bath or shower and ask the Element of Water to cleanse you on all levels, emotionally, physically, spiritually, mentally and throughout your chakra systems. If it pleases you, light your favorite incense and ask the element of Air to grant you mental clarity.
 
Return to your sacred space and set your candles out on your table/altar with the orange candle to the right, the white candle in the middle and the green candle to the left. The white and orange candles represent balanced Sun/Moon, feminine/masculine, projective/receptive energies and the green candle represents fertility. This is just a guide. You can also customize this to include the deities you have a relationship with and/or place the candles in the way that your own spiritual practice dictates. There is no wrong way, only the way that is right for you and your own practices. If you do not have your own system then this one should work just fine.
 
Light the white candle and say, “this is for the Moon and balancedfemininity”
 
Light the orange candle and say “this is for the Sun and balancedmasculinity”
 
Light the green candle and say, “this is for fertility”
 
Finish by saying, “My energies are balanced and I convey fertility to myintentions.”
 
Take out your list of things that you are grateful for. State each one out loud and thank the Universe/Spirit for each of them. Not only does this convey gratitude to the Universe/Spirit but it also reinforces for you exactly how blessed you are and therefore how worthy you have already been deemed by the spiritual powers that be. This helps to enforce your own inner sense of worthiness which is a key component in successful intention work.
 
Take out your list of intentions and before stating them, ask the universe/Spirit to help you to bring your intentions to fruition.
 
State each intention out loud and finish by saying “so it is.”
 
Thank the Universe/Spirit in advance for their help.
 
If possible let your intentions remain on your altar and let the candles burn out. If it is not possible for you to do that, extinguish the candles and pin your intentions to a wall that you frequently pass so that you see them as much as possible or keep your intentions in a safe place but take the time to read the list at least once a day until the Full Moon. On the first Monday of the full Moon, burn your intentions to offer them up to the Universe/Spirit and continue your joint efforts with the Universe/Spirit to achieve your goals.Today’s affirmation is my goals are already within my reach. I need only reach out and take them. Say it ten times and mean it.

Intention manifestation part four - Working with the Universe to achieve goals

This is part four of the New Year’s Intention Manifestation series and using metaphysics to improve your life. Now that we have a clearly defined list of intentions we will take another step to increase the effectiveness of your intention manifestation practice.
 
The next step towards helping you achieve your goals is the commitment to help the universe to help you. The Universe is more than willing to assist you in making your dreams a reality but you must also do your share of the work. Take your list of intentions and if possible, draw a line down the middle of the page.Use a separate piece of paper if necessary. Look at each item and then in the new column you have drawn or the separate page, write out what you intend to do to help ensure your success. Let’s say your intention is to quit smoking. Write out a plan to achieve this such as speaking to your doctor about options,researching nicotine patches, books or natural ways to quit. Draw up are reasonable plan that you know you can effectively work. Some quit smoking methods allow you to quit gradually so if you know you may have a hard time going cold turkey, one of these types of plans may be right for you.
 
If your goal is to lose weight, write out a plan that you will be able to stick with. Research different eating plans and choose the ones that will allow you to eat the type of foods that you like. Take a look at your schedule and come up with are reasonable exercise plan that will work with your free time. If your schedule is full, you may have to get up earlier or dedicate some of your lunch hour towards taking a walk. Now is the time to figure it out so that when you are ready to launch your intentions, your plan will already be written out and ready for you.
 
For those of you looking for love, you need a plan too. If you’ve been looking for awhile then your current plan is not working. Go over it and figure out what you can do differently. Write down your hobbies and interests and then look for social clubs or meet up groups that cater to them. A great place to start is http://www.meetup.com/ They offer groups that cater to many types of interests and like minded individuals. You might even find the mate you’ve been looking for. Can’t find a group you like? Start your own. For those of you just re-entering the market, the same rule applies. Use your own interests as a guide to finding a mate. Write down everything you are looking for in a person and then use it as a mirror. Ask yourself, can these same wonderful attributes be found in you? If not, work on those things that you can improve about yourself.After all it is only fair to be able to give what you hope to receive.
 
The New Year is just a few days away so get ready for a new start and a new life. Next week we will go over actually launching your intentions to the Universe for them to be fulfilled. Today’s mantra is I will help the Universe to help me reach my goals. Say it ten times and mean it.

Intention manifestation part three – How to clearly convey your intentions

This is part three of the New Year’s Intention Manifestation series and using metaphysics to improve your life. Now that we have worked on increasing your sense of worthiness, we will now take another step to increase the effectiveness of your intention manifestation practice.  
 
When doing Law of Attraction type work, it is important to clearly state your intentions while feeling worthy of receiving them. What is even more important is that the wording of them must reflect a crystal clear definition of what it is you that want.
 
It is not uncommon to hear people state that they want more abundance in their lives.When hearing that the Universe may ask abundance of what? Love? Money? Peace?Chocolate?  Perhaps you want a new job.What kind of job? At what salary and is that salary reasonable for the type of work you are looking for? If you just leave it at getting a “new job”, you maybe offered a career opportunity that is not in line with what you wanted. Now that you have broken down your career expectations, the next step is being honest about your qualifications to have such a position. Do you need extra training to qualify for the job? If yes, then part of your intentions should be to get whatever training you need to acquire the position. If training is added to the intention plate, how much will it cost and do you have the funds for it?After investigating how much such training will cost, if you determine that you do not have the funds for it then you need to also add the amount to your intention list.
 
You have now gone from a vague description of what you want to a finely defined list that is easy for the Universe to understand and help you achieve. The same rules apply to whatever it is you are trying to bring into your life.
 
What about getting rid of the things you don’t want in your life? That can be just slightly trickier because you don’t want to word your intentions in a negative way such as “I don’t want to be in bad relationships anymore” or “I don’t want to smoke anymore.” Remember that when stating your intentions, you must put your emotions behind it. Stating things that you don’t want may cause you to put negative emotions into the process. If you state you don’t want to be in bad relationships anymore, the pain you felt in those relationships may come through and that is the energy you are putting out into the Universe. Instead of saying what you don’t want, do the opposite and state what you do want. You want a great relationship with someone you can trust that will love you as much as you love them (add the finer details such as how they look, what they like to do, etc.). Instead of saying you want to quit smoking, change it to you want to be healthier and breathe better and feel the relief of feeling that way.This way your intention is clear and you inject a positive emotion behind it.  
 
Hopefully you are now well on your way to making your New Year’s intention manifestation list. Remember, keep your intentions clear, put positive emotions behind it and your dreams will manifest much more quickly. Today’s affirmation is I clearly communicate that which I desire. Say it ten times and mean it.

Intention manifestation part 2 – Increasing your sense of worthiness

This is part two of the New Year’s intention manifestation series. In the last article we discussed the importance of retraining the subconscious to understand what is truly best for you as opposed to what it was previously trained to believe. Hopefully writing down your blessings before going to bed and looking at it as frequently as possible has helped you to achieve this. In this part of the series we will discuss the importance of increasing your sense of self worth and retraining your subconscious on another level.
 
When using intention manifestation or law of attraction practices, conveying the proper emotion when stating your intents is essential. However, if you are attempting to bring extra money or love etc.,into your life but deep down inside you don’t truly feel worthy of receiving it, then your practices could amount to nothing. Even if you tell yourself you are worthy of receiving abundance in whatever it is you wish, if your subconscious is telling you that you are unworthy, then that is the energy that you will probably send out.
 
So where does our sense of unworthiness come from? A giant clue could be in what it is you are trying to achieve. It starts first by determining what we want or at least think we want. In the movie the Silence of the Lambs, there is a classic question and answer quote summed up as,” …how do we begin to covet…we begin by coveting what we see every day….”
 
Every day we are inundated with messages designed to make us feel deficient in some way. The Encarta Dictionary defines the word deficient as:
 
1.      Lacking– lacking a particular quality, element, or ingredient, especially one that is expected or necessary
 
2.      Inadequate- inadequate or not good enough
 
You need only watch television for an hour to be told that you are not skinny enough, wealthy enough, your wardrobe is lacking, your eyelashes are too short, your hair is too thin, you have too many wrinkles and way too much gray hair. It’s not just the television telling you this. Radio commercials hammer the messages into you as do the bill boards you drive past and even the Internet. Go to your favorite site and chances are on the side of the web page, there are mini ads some with video suggesting that you’re too fat, under educated or it’s easy to look better with some weird old trick. Translation:You are not good enough the way you are. You may not respond to all of these things but there’s an excellent chance that internally, you are responding to at least some of society’s propaganda that happiness lies in being materialistic and shallow and that these things are what you should aspire to.
 
Now there is nothing wrong with wanting a nice car or to get into shape but if you are struggling with your weight or just trying to have enough money to put food on the table and gas in the car, being flooded with images of size zero models, actors and actresses, luxury cars, homes, etc., may make you feel unworthy of having what you want. After all, you’re a nice person, supportive of your friends and family and work hard yet you still struggle with getting what those things you desire. So what to do?
 
It’s time to change your perspective about your worthiness. Don’t allow your self worth to be defined by materialism and vanity. There was a time when just your name or who you were as a person meant something. You may not have had a lot of money but if you had a good name it was better than gold. You do so much for so many people including you and should pat yourself on the back for it. To help you to recognize your true self worth, take out another sheet of paper and before going to bed, write down the things that you did for yourself and for others, no matter how small or even if it is a part of your regular routine. Did you change a bunch of diapers today? Feed your family? Go to work even though you didn’t feel like it? Play with your children? Help them with homework? Are you in school or training? Did you make someone smile today? Did you make yourself smile today? Did you help someone out in even the tiniest way? These are all things that are reflective of being responsible, supportive and taking pride in doing good works for others and yourself. As you begin writing down all of the good things you have done for yourself and others every day, your sense of inner pride and worthiness will continue to develop. This way, when you do state your intentions, your feelings of self worth will be sincere and intact and bring you closer to manifesting your dreams. Today’s mantra is you are worthy of all you desire. Say it 10 times and mean it.

Intention Manifestation – How your subconscious may be in the way of getting what you want

This is the first in a series of articles on using metaphysics as a tool to a better life. Many people are now engaging in law of attraction type practices as a way of manifesting money, love, a better job,etc. Much of these types of practices involve sending out a thought with the corresponding emotion to act as a lasso, roping in what you want and bringing it back to you. Unfortunately despite their best efforts, many of these practitioners are still struggling with getting the system to work and end up feeling evermore like a failure or like they don’t deserve to have the very best in life when their intention manifestation system seems to fail. Neither of these feelings can be further from the truth. You are not a failure and neither is your intention manifestation system. More than likely your subconscious is to blame for not allowing you to change your life for the better. Before beginning an intention manifestation program, it is important to first take steps to retrain the subconscious. Believe it or not, your subconscious rules approximately 88% of your actions. It has been in training since your childhood and does not like change. This is what makes it so difficult to quit smoking, lose weight or get rid of a poverty or not good enough mentality.
 
Your subconscious decides what is a normal state of being for you based on what was a normal state of being for you during your childhood. In an effort to keep you in a “normal” state, it tries very hard to replicate your past. Therefore if you grew up in an abusive home, your subconscious will lead you to abusive people to keep you in what it feels is a “normal”state of being. On the other hand, if you grew up in a loving family environment, it will seek to lead you to loving and nurturing people because that is what it deems is normal for you. When doing intention manifestation work, if you are trying to make more money to pay your bills but you grew up in a financially challenged home then your subconscious will work against you because having money is not what it feels is your “normal” state of being.  The subconscious does not understand right from wrong or what is actually best for you. It only understands what it has been trained to believe is normal and will work hard to keep you at the same level that you have always been. You might have found that even in times when you had extra money, something happened that took it away from you, be it an emergency repair or a relative that needed help. You can thank your subconscious for sending out the signal that took your excess funds away.
 
So how do we retrain our subconscious to work for us and not against us? There is a phrase that I am sure you have heard many times that really does work.  It is count your blessings. Each night before going to bed, make a list of everything that you are thankful for. This will invoke emotions of happiness based on actual events that your subconscious can relate to. Carry this list around with you the next day and glance at it as frequently as possible. The more you read it, the happier you will feel. The longer you stay happy, the more the subconscious will associate happiness with being your “normal” state and it will then start working to make sure you stay that way.
